HOW IT STARTED
My career began in the world of retail, where I quickly learned the lasting impact of exceptional service and strong operations. I helped launch Starbucks in the Birmingham market, setting the foundation for my passion for hospitality and brand experience. From there, I led operational strategy, brand launches, and communication initiatives at Books-A-Million, where I developed scalable systems that stand the test of time. I further honed my leadership training and interior design eye while overseeing learning and development at Summer Classics and Gabby—high-end furniture brands known for their craftsmanship and style.
Before launching my consultancy, I served in talent development at Protective Life, where I focused on leadership coaching and professional growth for people managers. That experience deepened my ability to guide individuals and organizations through sustainable, values-driven development.
In 2024, my husband and I opened Laura Lane, a luxury hair salon in Mountain Brook Village. The salon was named Best Salon of Mountain Brook in 2025 by local readers of Mountain Brook Magazine—proof of our commitment to design, branding, and team culture. That project brought everything full circle: brand strategy, interior definition, and leadership. It also clarified my next chapter—supporting other business owners, creatives, and entrepreneurs as they define and build what’s next.
